video coming soon ✎ The Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) is permanent residence through your employer.
- Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) — for 482 holders after 2 years full-time. Usually no new skills assessment.
- Direct Entry — a positive skills assessment and 3 years' experience, without needing a 482 first.
💡TRT needs 2 years, not 3. The requirement was reduced in late 2023.

- English — Competent English, for example IELTS 6 in each band
- Salary — at least A$79,423 and the market rate
- Your employer — a genuine role and a nomination
💡Watch out: a 482 English result isn't enough for the 186. Competent English is a higher level.
